Neuralgic pain could be an advanced, chronic pain state
that typically is in the midst of tissue injury. With hurting pain, the
nerve fibers themselves could also be broken, dysfunctional, or injured.
These broken nerve fibers send incorrect signals to alternative pain
centers.
